The uniting power of food: Aggie’s story

“I am 22 and have recently finished my undergraduate degree in sociology at Bristol university. I love the Bristol community and I am keen to learn more about the ways in which people from different cultures backgrounds are joining together to share their love for food.

My favourite recipe is chicken wrapped in bacon with a creamy roux sauce and mushrooms
and crispy potatoes.
My food heritage I would say is typical English food, however I do have a gluten
intolerance and quite a serious one, which makes my diet different from the norm. I discovered I was
gluten intolerant when I was eighteen, so it has been four years now, and although I don’t mind, I find I

am still adapting to a gluten free diet, and a cheap gluten free diet more importantly.

I have recently enjoyed learning about making different curries as they suit any dietary requirements”.
