Equipping the next generation: Sam Goldsmith’s story

Sam is Head of Food and Nutrition at Clifton High School in Bristol and this is his story:

Having been inspired by my family’s love for food whilst growing up (Grandad trained as a patisserie chef and my Dad’s side of the family ran a café) I decided to take it further and study Food at university. After finishing my degree, I went on a food writing course before training to be a teacher. As well as working at Clifton High School I also freelance as a food stylist/recipe developer as well as co-owning Colonna & Hunter in Bath. More so than ever, I believe it is important that we get children cooking and sharing our knowledge and stories is the best way to inspire them to do so.

One of Sam’s student’s favourite recipes is his chocolate beetroot cake, he is pictured second from left, in the studio with BBC Radio Bristol presenter Martin Evans…..recipe coming soon!
